TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan and Vietnam will allow short-term business travel with each other as they aim to boost their economies following travel curbs to rein in the coronavirus, the Yomiuri daily said on Saturday.

TOKYO (Xinhua): Japan’s Foreign Ministry confirmed on Tuesday (Oct 6) that business travel will resume between Japan and South Korea on Thursday after flights were suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Currently, the Japan-South Korea relationship is in an extremely severe situation so exchanges of people from both countries, starting with business people, are important,” Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi told a press briefing.

Currently, all Japanese citizens and foreign residents re-entering Japan are required to go into a 14-day quarantine on arrival, to reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19 coronavirus. However, this policy could change towards the end of October. According to Kyodo News, the Japanese government is looking to exempt all business travellers as well as Japanese citizens and returning foreign residents from the 14-day quarantine requirement.
